Aissatou Diallo
Postdoctoral Researcher
I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Computer Science department at University College London advised by Anthony Hunter. I obtained my PhD at TU Darmstadt, Germany where I worked under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Johannes Fürnkranz at the Knowledge Engineering Group.
research interests
During the PhD, my main research interest focused on representation learning. Particularly, how to learn appropriate representation for complex data and or in non-standard setting. I have also worked on analogical reasoning and learning to rank.
As a postdoc, my research primarily focuses on enhancing the interpretability and effectiveness of commonsense reasoning particularly using Large Language Models (LLMs). I develop methods to formalize and reason about complex, procedural knowledge, as demonstrated in diverse contexts such as cooking and disaster management. My work seeks to push the boundaries of how machines interpret, reason about, and interact with human-understandable texts, aiming to bridge the gap between human commonsense reasoning and AI.
